History of Living Word Outreach Christian College

& School of Ministry

The vision of Living Word Outreach Christian College was placed in the heart of Dr. Darlene Young long before she was asked to oversee a local campus in 1992 by Logos International, presently known as Logos Christian College & Graduate Schools in the State of Florida. Dr. Young made her affiliation with Logos as adjunct faculty operating a local school of correspondence in the city of Chicago Heights IL. In 1998 Living Word Outreach Christian College changed it’s affiliation with Logos Christian College to Regency Christian College and continued to offer faith-based training to students. In 2003 we became an independent college, offering certificates related to ministry preparation. In 2004 we became internationally accredited by Accrediting Commission International (ACI), the words largest non-governmental accrediting agency. In 2006 Living Word Outreach International Church and Ministries Inc. became recognized as incorporated in the state of Indiana. With this new development and approval of our programs through ACI we are now able to offer undergraduate degrees and are making preparation to re-introduce our graduate programs in 2007.

Doctrinal Distinctives

We believe in one God The Father the Son and The Holy Spirit.

We believe That the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, crucified, and died, buried and was resurrected. He ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and is true God and true Man.

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is our rule of faith and practice.

We believe that all are born sinners: the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, and because of the shedding of Jesus Christ’s blood, those who repent of their sins and personally accept the Lord Jesus Christ as savior receive forgiveness of sin and life everlasting.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance; that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are valid and operative today, and that the fruit of the Holy Spirit should be increasingly evident in a Christian’s’ life.

We believe that the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ provides healing for our spirit, soul and body.

We believe that we should obey Jesus’ command to preach the gospel to all the world.

We believe as becoming good soldiers, there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither male nor female; for God is no respecter of person.

We believe and look for the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ
